Maiko started handcrafting oil blends for herself after experiencing poor skin conditions due to hormonal imbalances and life stress. 

Eventually, she started sharing them in her community and local shops.

She enjoys craftsmanship, honor, and respect, and appreciates natural ingredients. Hoping to share the sense of harmony that vibrates in her creations.

Maiko is a founder of M Botánica, a licensed massage therapist, body worker, and healing practitioner, who loves to work with plants & flowers.

She was born and raised in Japan. She went to Pratt Institute in New York and studied Design in her 20s.

In 2009, the practice of ancient Hawaiian wisdom ‘Ho’oponopono’ and interest in learning Hawaiian medicinal plants brought Maiko to the island of Hawai’i.

Botánica is Spanish, which translates as “botany” or "plant store." They carry fork medicine, herbs, candles, oils, incense, perfumes, and books, etc.

Besides herbalism, her practices include:
